Due to unforeseen circumstances, Rocky Mountain Fur Con will be parting ways with the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The convention staff at RMFC would like to extend our thanks to the staff and management at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Without them, we would not have had a convention last year, and for that we are grateful.
We are excited to announce that Rocky Mountain Fur Con has a new home at the beautiful Doubletree Hotel in Denver. The Doubletree Hotel is just off I-70, five minutes from I-25 and I-225 and ten minutes from downtown Denver, making it the most centralized hotel we've ever had! Here are some awesome places that are nearby:
· 2 miles from Denver Museum of Nature and Science
· 2 miles from Denver Zoo (fursuit trip anyone?)
· Quebec Square
· The 29th Avenue Town Center
· The Shops at Northfield (A fursuit parade through this mall is being planned)
Convention Space
Holy convention space Batman! The Doubletree Hotel is providing us 30,000 square feet of convention space. Say goodbye to crossing hazardous driveways with cars zooming out! All space is centrally located and has an independent entrance
Rooms and Room Rates
RMFC was able to negotiate an awesome room rate this year!
Single/Double Beds 109.00 per night. Up to 4 Occupants.
Meaning if you have four friends come with you, you’re looking at less than 85.00 for the entire stay. Guest-room will overlook the skyline of Denver and the Rocky Mountains or the new urbanism of Stapleton. Say goodbye to views of Homeless Joe camped out across the street!
And for all you tech-happy furs, the Doubletree Hotel offers complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access in all guestrooms. Check out our Hotel page for more information.
Some additional amenities include:
Free Parking
Free shuttle to the Shops at Northfield
Free shuttle to and from DIA
Hotel Management and Staff
The Management and Staff at the Doubletree Hotel are very excited to have us! We have been contacted by several departments at the hotel welcoming us. The General Manager himself has experience with furry conventions and was the General Manager for the San Jose Doubletree while Further Confusion (FC) was there.
